Film Makers
My brother’s love movie making. Conner is fifteen years old and Ryan is eighteen
years old. They make movies for
fun. It started out when they made a
stop motion Lego movie on their camera five years ago. After that, they often got together with
their friends, Judah and Asa, and made real movies. They have been working together for the past
three years. Each one of their movies
improves every time.
Most of their movies have been made at our house in the
garage, the tennis court, at the dock, or in the forest. Usually Judah is the main actor. Conner works
sound and camera and sometimes acts.
Ryan video edits and puts in the after effects, and Asa also acts and
helps with filming. The boys always
start with prayer and Bible Study and usually sleep over because the filming
takes a long time. I love to watch them
work together and see their friendship growing.
Some of the short films they have made include: Fishers
of Men, Hostage, Freeze, Punch my Hand, New Gun, Glimpse, and Junior World War Two.
The boys have entered a few competitions; one of them was
called “The Twenty Four Hour Toowoomba Festival.” They had to make the film
from start to finish in twenty-four hours.
The boys worked very hard and they won three awards: Best Sound, Best
under Eighteen, and the Best Overall. In
addition, they were awarded $4,000 for their film called “Remorse.” Some of the money they used toward their next movie and
bought two swords and a costume. In this
festival, they made a trailer for the Kingdom
Dawn series written by Chuck Black.
And guess what, they won!
If you want to visit their website, Eye Key Productions, you
can see all of their films. I think the Eye Key production team is the best
movie maker team ever!
