How the Sun Came To Be

This is a creative writing story that I have written.  I am hoping this story will stand out to some people!

How the Sun Came To Be
Dear Audience, I am about to tell you a story that long ago happened called, “How the Sun Came To Be.” This creative story is not like others. I wanted to portray something ordinary, but creative at the same time.  Like usual, a lot of authors begin with, “Once Upon A Time.”

So, once upon a time the earth was dark and cold and had no sun.
On every cold Friday morning, an elephant named Mustafa, sometimes
nicknamed Mustafa the Strong, would hike up the top of his favorite hill.
Mustafa always felt a sense of relief when he reached the top of the tall
mountain.  A ball that he always carried around his had an orangey-yellowish
color to it. When Mustafa touched the ball, he felt warmth and comfort
in the cold earth he lived in.  Mustafa was an intelligent elephant who was always polite, except when he got angry.

Mustafa just succeeded climbing the top of the hill and settled down when he heard something. The mysterious sound went, “click, click, click, click,” and paused after every four clicks. Mustafa didn't think much of the sound since he was big.  Although he was wrong, Mustafa jumped and made a yelping sound when he saw a crab right on his knee!  The crab always wore a frown, and a lot of times boasted about how good he was at scaring people.  “Oh, it is you Tundra. You frightened me!”  Mustafa was quite annoyed because Tundra, the small crab, ruined his schedule.

“Hello, my gigantic friend. I am sorry. I just wanted to give you a fright,” said the crab chuckling.  “Why do you bounce your ball every Friday, and not any other days?”

Mustafa frowned at Tundra and then simply said, “I don’t know crab.”

“Ummmm,” said the crab now snatching the ball from his friend, “let me bounce it this time.”

“OK, but remember to give it back to me right after,” Mustafa said sitting down on the grassy hill and waiting for his crab friend to finish so he can have his turn.  Mustafa watched the crab out of his big bulgy eyes.  Mustafa saw Tundra bouncing the ball again and again.  Mustafa lay still on the grass, and started to take his gaze of Tundra.  Suddenly Mustafa bolted upright and shook himself awake.  Mustafa scanned the hill side, but could not see the sneaky crab.

Then out of nowhere, a bright light came into sight.  Mustafa got up and ran with all his might toward the light. After a while, Mustafa was gaining ground toward the glowing ball.  Then he noticed Tundra and ran even faster.  Mustafa was getting tired, but he was almost at the crab’s head.  BAM! The elephant tripped over a rock and just caught Tundra on his way down.
The crab squirmed, but never left the strong grip of the elephant.  “Why did you run away with my ball?  I thought we were friends?”

“I-I-I don’t k-know,” the crab managed to say.  Then the crab and the elephant got into a big fight and were rolling over and over.  One was on top of the other and then on the bottom.  It was a nasty fight and they got a lot of bruises.  The fight was suddenly on the hill top and both were fighting dangerously.  The elephant was pouncing his powerful feet, while the crab was clawing at him.  The crab got scared that he would get majorly bruised or even killed in this battle.

Suddenly Mustafa and Tundra both fell right on top of the ball, and it shot up into the air.   It flew over the houses, the hill, and then finally flew way up over the clouds.  Tundra and Mustafa looked at the ball and then each other.  Mustafa was worried and amazed because his favorite ball was caught up in the sky.  Then the ball shot bolts of light everywhere, and that day Mustafa’s ball made light for the earth.  Even though the giant elephant was sad every day, he was happy he made light to the world.  The animals of the earth called it, “The Sun.”

So that, my Audience, is my story.
