About me

My name is Lucas.  I have two older brothers who love to make movies. My older sister loves horses.

I think Blogs are exciting! It is a fun way to share pictures and special writing projects to my friends all around the world.

My Auntie Mary has been visiting and helping us for almost a year.  Just a little secret, her cooking is really good!! My first blog writing is a story about her and her cooking.

Auntie Mary’s Cooking!

Superb describes Auntie Mary’s cooking! Born into a big family of eight children, she learned to cook for a lot of people.  She is not a chef, but cooks wonderful foods like enchiladas, donuts, homemade pizza, and homemade pesto.  My Auntie Mary prepares dinner every night and sometimes lunches and breakfasts.  Coming into the kitchen always smells divine.  You never know what special foods will be cooking.  One thing for sure; her food always tastes so mouth-watering and delicious. 

Our family enjoys teatime with Auntie Mary.  At 3:00 p.m. every afternoon Auntie Mary calls out “Tea Time.”  We gather and sit down to a beautifully set table.   On the table is a tea pot with cups and saucers, and a white lace table cloth.  I look forward to the savory and sweet treats.  Teatime begins with this wonderful prayer: Heavenly Father, bless this tea and may we be a blessing to Thee.  The relaxing conversation and break from school make this time extra special.

I have enjoyed cooking in the kitchen with Auntie Mary.  Recently I have learned to make some of her special and delicious recipes.  Two of my best dishes are: Egg quiche and Parker’s chicken with dried tomatoes and feta cheese.  We have also baked oatmeal and peanut butter cookies. Baking Chocolate chip cookies is one of my favorites because we all enjoy the American chocolate chips. With all this practice now, cooking by myself is fun and easy.  Sadly, in two weeks she will leave us and go back to California.  We will miss her and her wonderful cooking so much!
